Overview
We are seeking a qualified X-Ray Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures, ensure high-quality radiographic images, maintain patient safety standards, and work collaboratively with physicians and clinic staff across multiple locations. Primary work locations will be Edmonton (Northside – 97 St, St. Albert, or Strathcona), with the main assignment being at one primary site depending on scheduling needs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for X-ray procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly to obtain optimal images
- Operate X-ray equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations
- Ensure accurate identification of patients and proper documentation of procedures performed
- Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of imaging equipment through routine checks and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with radiologists and medical staff to deliver high-quality diagnostic images for review
- Follow all safety guidelines to minimize radiation exposure for patients and staff
- Maintain detailed records of procedures, patient information, and equipment maintenance logs
- Stay updated on the latest imaging techniques and safety standards through ongoing education
Experience and Qualifications
- Prior experience as an X-ray Technician or similar role in a healthcare setting is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology is essential for accurate communication and documentation
- Current registration in good standing with CAMRT
- Valid certification as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT / X-Ray Tech)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in general radiography
- Experience working in outpatient/clinic diagnostic imaging settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety protocols and patient positioning
- Ability to work independently across multiple clinic sites in Edmonton
- Availability to work at any of the following locations:
- Northside (97 Street)
- St. Albert
- Strathcona
