EXPERIENCED LANDSCAPE HORTICULTURIST/CREW LEADER
Bedford Buck & Sons Ltd is a family-owned operation, est. 1994, growing our crew for the 2026 season. We're looking for an experienced landscape horticulturist who can run garden work independently and bring real plant knowledge to the team.
This is not an entry-level role.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Garden bed maintenance, pruning, planting
- Hedge trimming and topiary work
- Plant identification and care across a wide range of Zone 5b material
- Spring and fall cleanups
- Mulch installs, edging, light hardscape
- Ground-level tree work — pruning, limbing, smaller takedowns (no climbing required)
- Premium push-mowing and finish work on select properties
- Running specialty jobs with minimal supervision
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- 3+ seasons of professional landscaping experience
- Strong plant identification and bed work skills
- Valid NB driver's licence, clean abstract
- Comfortable towing a tandem trailer in residential settings
- Available through end of November — we work right through fall cleanups
- Walk 5+ km/day on uneven terrain
- Lift and carry 60 lb repeatedly (mulch, soil, stone, equipment)
- Bend, kneel, squat throughout the day
- Work outdoors in varied weather
HELPFUL EXPERIENCE (NOT REQUIRED)
- Red Seal Landscape Horticulturist or apprenticeship in progress
- Ability to lay stone — opens additional work for the right person
- Pesticide applicator certification
- Small equipment repair experience
WHAT WE OFFER
- Starting at $24/hr, based on experience
- Full-time hours, June through November
