About K2 Group
K2 Group is a privately held, fully integrated company that strategically acquires, develops, constructs, and repositions hospitality, petroleum, and real estate assets across Canada and the United States. Our hospitality portfolio includes hotels and restaurants operating under internationally recognized brands, and we are growing. We are seeking a strong, hands-on Director of Operations to oversee these properties, drive profitability, and lead with a service-first mindset.
The Opportunity
This is a senior, multi-unit leadership role for an operator who has run hotels and food & beverage at scale and knows how to turn operational discipline into profit. You will own the performance of our hotels and restaurants — setting standards, managing budgets, developing on-site leaders, and protecting the guest experience at every touchpoint. You will spend meaningful time in the field: visiting properties, walking the floor, coaching teams, and holding each site accountable to both financial and service targets. If you bring the rigor and playbook of a major hospitality group and the energy to be present where the work happens, this role offers real ownership and upside.
What You'll Do
- Provide operational leadership across a portfolio of hotels and restaurants, owning performance for guest service, revenue, and profitability.
- Drive profitability through disciplined management of P&L, GOP, food and labor cost, and operating expenses across all units.
- Build, review, and manage annual operating budgets and forecasts; analyze performance data and deliver clear, timely reporting to ownership.
- Lead with service first — set and uphold guest-experience standards, monitor satisfaction and review scores, and ensure consistency across every property.
- Develop and coach General Managers, restaurant managers, and on-site leadership teams; build bench strength and a culture of accountability.
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, franchise requirements, health and safety regulations, and company policies across all sites.
- Identify and implement operational improvements, efficiencies, and new ideas that grow revenue and margin without compromising service.
- Travel regularly to conduct site visits, property inspections, and performance reviews; be a visible, hands-on presence in the field.
- Partner with sales, finance, and HR to align operations with revenue strategy, financial targets, and staffing needs.
- Support new openings, repositionings, renovations, and integrations as K2 Group's portfolio grows.
- Resolve escalated operational, guest, and staffing issues quickly and decisively.
What You Bring
- 10+ years of progressive hospitality operations experience, including 5+ years in senior multi-property or multi-unit leadership with a hotel and/or restaurant ownership group or management company (e.g., a national hospitality group).
- Demonstrated success owning P&L and improving profitability across multiple properties — strong command of GOP, food and labor cost, and budgeting.
- Proven hotel operations experience and food & beverage / restaurant operations experience; comfort leading both.
- A service-first leader who sets high standards and holds teams accountable while developing people.
- Highly organized, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and the ability to manage many priorities across locations.
- Experience with brand/franchise standards and the systems behind hotel and restaurant operations (PMS, POS, reporting/BI tools).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with executives, on-site teams, and ownership.
- A degree or diploma in Hospitality/Hotel Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently and be on-site across the portfolio; valid driver's license required.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
Why K2 Group
- Direct line to ownership and real authority over how the portfolio runs.
- A growing, diversified group across Canada and the USA with room to build and advance.
- Competitive base salary plus a performance-based incentive tied to the results you drive.
