Reach Truck Operator for provincial government agency client, Scarborough.

Initial Term: Monday July 6, 2026 to August 14, 2026, with possible extension to October 2, 2026.
Target Compensation: From $25 to $30 per hour, according to experience.
Regular Work Hours: 7.25 hours per day not including .75 hour unpaid lunch break, during regular business hours, Monday to Friday (36.25 work hours per week). May also be required to work additional weekday, evening or weekend shifts as needed.
Work Location: 100% onsite at client's Scarborough facility, with free parking provided.
Ergonomic Requirements: In addition to driving a forklift, the position will require frequent lifting up to 60 lbs., extended standing, walking inside and outside the premises, bending, crouching and overhead reaching, pushing or pulling a cart or trolley, exposure to outside temperatures, and additional ergonomic and physical requirements associated with a warehouse or loading dock position, including operating a double deep reach truck, counterbalance forklift, or pump truck.
Onsite Dress Code: Neat work-wear suitable to a warehouse or loading dock. Steel-toed boots or shoes mandatory.
Position Reports To: Asset Management Coordinator.
Responsibilities Summary:
Working in a team environment, will assist with picking, packing and kitting of materials, packages and supplies, and operate double deep reach truck, counterbalance forklift and pump truck to fulfill range of warehouse facilities tasks, ensuring safe and efficient movement of goods and equipment, in compliance with established safety standards and operating procedures.
- Assemble, sort and count material, labeling boxes accordingly. Pack, and unpack materials.
- Lift and move boxes of materials and supplies.
- Label and sort incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Load and unload trucks, and relocate items within the warehouse and loading area.
- Move skids, and stack crates, pallets or other material, ensuring loads are centered and properly stacked.
- Document arrival, departure, and movement and storage of goods, check trucking manifests and bills of lading, maintain inventory, and track fulfillment of orders.
- Provide quality assurance testing, including reporting product damage and shortages, and determining when repairs need to be made on equipment.
- Maintain safe and clean work area, strictly following safety regulations and organization policies and guidelines.
- Additional licensed reach truck driver and warehouse facility operations responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
Education: Highschool Diploma.
Professional Credentials: Valid Reach Truck Operator's Certification, Forklift Driver's License and Valid Class G Ontario Driver's License (will be independently verified).
Preferred Work Experience: At least 1+ years of experience as a licensed reach truck operator.
Technical and Language Skills Requirements:
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, peripheral vision, and ability with spatial relationships.
- Proven ability to safely operate both a double deep reach truck and a counterbalance forklift (will be tested at client site).
- Satisfactory English communication skills, both written and verbal, including satisfactory English reading comprehension, with ability to read and understand packaging, shipping documents, and safety guidelines (will be tested).
- Satisfactory numeracy skills (will be tested).
- Satisfactory keyboarding and data entry skills (will be tested).
- General familiarity with inventory processing and tracking systems and databases.

Additional Requirements:
- Must be available to take reach truck and/or forklift driver's test at client's worksite upon request.
- Good physical condition to safely meet the ergonomic requirements of the job, including regularly lifting items up to 60 lbs.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
- Ability to work 100% onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies
- Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities.
- Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start.
- Satisfactory Background Checks, Technical Skills Evaluations, and Employment References.
