Description: Application of the English sound system to practical ESL teaching situations, planning and integrating pronunciation (as well as other oral skills, such as fluency) into activities and projects, developing materials, and assessing progress.
This course is not Team taught or offered online.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):
Education:
1. Master’s degree in Second Language Education or related area (in exceptional circumstances applicants without a Master’s degree but with significant research or professional experience related to the course content may be considered).
2. Teaching degree or equivalent, and experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL).
Experience:
1. Knowledge of the Quebec Education program (QEP).
2. Expert Knowledge of course content.
3. Familiarity with the Professional Competencies specified by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
4. Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) to pre-service teachers.
5. Experience teaching ESL in the Quebec elementary/secondary French school system.
Other:
1. Commitment to working with a team of committed and engaged instructors.
2. Must be available to attend course coordination and planning meeting minimum of 2 weeks in advance of course start date.
