Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint and coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes on various buildings and structures. This role requires some product knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and familiarity with safety protocols to maintain a safe and efficient work environment. The Painter will contribute to the production process by delivering precise workmanship that meets company standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking as needed
- Apply paint, coatings, or finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment with attention to detail
- Operate machinery such as cranes and forklifts when necessary for material handling or positioning(Not Necessary, but a plus)
- Use hand tools and power tools to assist in surface preparation and finishing tasks
- Follow safety guidelines related to the use of said tools and equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and ensure proper storage of tools and materials
Requirements
- Proven experience in painting
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment used in painting
- Basic experience and knowledge with regards to ladders and proper safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Ability to work safely around others, as well as on commercial/residential jobsites
- Must have a vehicle and valid driver's license as project sites are at different locations around the Cowichan Valley
Pay: $20.00-$27.00 per hour
