Cermaq Seafood BC Ltd. is seeking to hire dedicated full-time Broodstock Technician to join our Freshwater Team in Gold River. Reporting to the Brood and Egg Manager, the Broodstock Technician plays a key role in assisting with broodstock handling, spawning activities and egg collection to ensure the success of our production cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide onsite support during spawning season
-
Follow standard operating Procedures (SOP’s) and direction from supervisors

Assist with data collection and record keeping

Support egg collection and disinfection process
-
Fish handling and collecting samples for egg production

Maintain cleanliness of work areas, tools and equipment

Support Freshwater Hatchery as needed
Qualifications:

Excellent communication skills

Goal-oriented team player with the ability to meet deadlines

Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately

Physically fit and capable of performing hands on tasks, including heavy lifting of fish

Valid driver’s license required

Related work experience considered an asset
