Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Barista and Counter Server to join our vibrant team. THIS IS A PERMANENT POSITION. NO STUDENTS AT THIS TIME.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, possess strong food handling skills, and be proficient in food and beverage preparation. This role involves creating high-quality coffee beverages, managing transactions efficiently, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all customers. Previous experience in the food industry, especially with POS systems like Micros POS, is highly valued. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced setting, demonstrate excellent time management, and uphold food safety standards.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages with precision and care
- Handle food preparation tasks including assembling food items and maintaining cleanliness of workstations
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for accurate cashiering and cash handling
- Manage customer orders efficiently while providing friendly and attentive service
- Ensure food safety and proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
- Maintain cleanliness of the counter area, equipment, and dining space in compliance with health standards
- Assist in serving customers at the counter, taking orders accurately, and managing transactions with basic math skills
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations
- Uphold excellent customer service standards to foster a welcoming atmosphere
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a barista or in the food service industry is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work quickly while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in serving or cashiering roles is a must.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including weekends if required
- Fluent in English

Pay: $17.00-$25.00 per hour
