We are looking for a Financial Controller to lead our accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance for our Canadian and US operations. This role will manage the accounting team currently consisting of four direct reports and will report into the General Manager.

Primary responsibilities:
- Weekly and monthly financial reporting including Cash Flow forecast and P&L
- Create a set of controls and budgets to forecast and mitigate risks
- Oversee the accounting team to ensure all AR, AP, and payroll are processed in a timely manner
- Call out risks and opportunities on weekly reports
- Recommend operating metrics and benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
- Create a system to measure costs and profit by job and product
- Assist in creating company targets, employee targets, and bonus structure
- Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Provide financial analysis as needed
- Monthly bank reporting, and other periodic financial reporting to banks and insurance companies
- Coordinate external financial statement review engagements and tax return preparation with external accountants
- Coordinate responses to government tax audit requests
- Risk management: annual insurance renewals, foreign currency trading, AR collections risk management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent degree
- CPA, CA, or CMA
- 10+ years of accounting experience including preparing financial statements and budgets
- Highly proficient in QuickBooks
- Experience in the manufacturing sector
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Excel, Teams, and OneDrive
- Experience with implementing an ERP system is a plus
Hours and Location:
- Office located at 3055 Lenworth Dr, Mississauga
- 8am or 9am start time
- Monday to Friday
Targeted hiring date is between May and July.
Pay: $125,000.00-$155,000.00 per year
