Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. As a vital part of our restaurant management, the Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and hospitality. Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with attention to quality, presentation, and consistency
- Oversee food handling procedures to maintain safety and hygiene standards
- Support the implementation of food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Manage kitchen operations during shifts in the absence of the Head Chef
- Coordinate with serving staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and excellent customer experience
- Train new team members on food preparation, safety procedures, and restaurant standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times
- Contribute ideas for menu development and seasonal offerings
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies and managing stock levels
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced restaurant or food service environment
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling techniques
- Experience in restaurant management or hospitality is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff and management
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Passion for culinary arts and delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Prior restaurant experience within the food industry is essential
