Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Framer to oversee and execute framing projects on commercial and residential construction sites. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of framing techniques, and the ability to interpret detailed schematics and blueprints. This role requires a dedicated professional capable of managing teams, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high-quality craftsmanship in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Responsible of completing quality and safety check at all stages of project.
- Responsible for recording and approving site team time record.
- Responsible for review trades work and report deficiencies.
- Responsible in using PROCORE (to maintain daily logs, upload photos, reporting deficiencies, completing inspections, reviewing and completing action plans, and requesting materials).
- Responsible of management of materials, storage and deliveries onsite.
- Responsible of the housekeeping on site.
- Responsible to complete material takeoff required for next phase of project and create orders with PROCORE.
- Support site labour requirements to complete projects safely, on schedule, and to required quality standards.
- Participate in required safety, on-the-job and leadership training as outlined in the Skills Matrix.
- Use hand tools, small power tools, ladders, material handling, saws, as trained.
- Complete thorough quality checks, define quality checks for others as directed, following building codes.
- Oversee and participate in site construction to ensure schedules and expected quality standards are maintained.
- Oversee, provide on-site training and participate as required in all levels of construction site work to ensure schedules and quality standards are maintained.
- Perform quality checks and confirm layouts before prefab components are installed and as required.
- Read and understand architectural, structural and shop drawings and other technical specifications, including installation manuals.
- Ensure adequate inspection of delivered products as per technical specifications to ensure quality standards.
- Operate Forklift, when needed.
- Maintain expertise and continue to grow in the skills required for the position as documented in the Skills Matrix.
- Develop and maintain a high level of site construction skills and progress to higher-level positions in accordance with the Skills Matrix and industry best practices.
- Foster a positive and respectful culture within the Site Team.
- Follow instructions to complete assigned tasks and delegate tasks, as required.
- Understand project requirements and assign tasks to site team ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to required quality standards.
- Communicate Site Team needs, challenges, and resource requirements to the Site Supervisor.
- Communicate clearly assigned expectations related to quality, schedule, and customer satisfaction to Site Team members.
- Complete successfully training related to equipment operation, safety, leadership, operational performance, and other topics as assigned.
Skills
- Leadership experience with the ability to lead, influence, and motivate teams across multiple disciplines is an asset.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics, and concrete forming techniques
- Extensive experience with carpentry, woodworking, siding installation, and restoration projects
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery operation
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on job sites
- Strong knowledge of construction safety protocols and regulations
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing project requirements while maintaining quality standards
- Forklift Operation license is an asset and will be required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
