Our equipment removes nitrogen oxides, particulates and other harmful emissions most commonly for diesel engines used for backup power; end users of our systems include Amazon, Google and Microsoft.
Role Overview
The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for the incoming and outgoing of products within the facility, including the movement of materials according to Company specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive all incoming materials in a timely and efficient manner.
- Prepare outgoing loads and load trailers.
- Disperse materials required for both fabrication and cladding departments in an accurate and timely manner.
- Coordinate with shipping companies and drivers for incoming and outgoing shipping windows and required documentation.
- Manage the yard for shipment of reactors and containers to ensure efficient operation.
- Bring in raw materials from the exterior storage.
- Conduct physical inventory counts and upload results.
- Conduct monthly/annual physical inventory, reconciling results.
- Complete all shipping and receiving documentation in an accurate and efficient manner.
- Operate lift equipment safely, including conducting daily forklift safety inspections.
- Operate crane to lift units as required.
- General housekeeping, including organizing the yard, and discarding unwanted materials into the appropriate containers.
- Perform daily forklift inspections, including change propane tanks.
- Work collaboratively with all team members to ensure shipping goals are met.
- Complete all required inspection documentation and uploading prior to releasing a load for shipment.
- Keep work area organized and perform General housekeeping prior to end of shift.
- Promote a strong safety culture, enforcing safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
- Perform all work in a safe manner in compliance with Company specifications, including all local, provincial and federal regulations (OSHA, ESA, CSA, etc.) Immediately report unsafe conditions to Manager/Supervisor within the department.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience processing shipping documentations (BOL, packing slips, customs clearance).
- Valid forklift license (counterbalance).
- Valid crane license
- Previous experience operating lift equipment to pick, transport, load and stack material
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong oral and written communication
- Knowledgeable with MS Office and Cloud based inventory and scheduling systems.
Job Demands & Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, rain, snow, noise, vibration and metal dust
- Effectively perform in a fast-paced environment, and sometimes high stress situations.
- Required to lift and handle heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to welding fumes and dust, as well as air born insulation, for which masks are available.
- Ability to climb or balance, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and twist, and climb throughout entire shift.
- Required to wear PPE (safety glasses, safety boots, ear plugs are required)
- May require overtime, shift work depending on production demand.
