At CBM, we are looking for a skilled Mig/Tig Welder to work a day or afternoon shift at our metal fabrication plant in Milton, Ontario.
Position Description
- Set up jobs and operate Tig and Mig welding equipment on mild and stainless steel as well as aluminum. Operate grinders, sanders, air extractors, drill presses, robotic welder.
- Produce quality welds as per drawings/work instructions and customer requirements Perform production welding of various products as per customer orders
- Follow work instructions, read drawings and maintain standard times
- Check and test welds as per department procedures and quality standards
- General housekeeping and day to day tool maintenance to ensure equipment is working properly
- Complete all paperwork and data entry as required
- Follow all CWB and ISO procedures and maintain quality standards
- Follow all safety procedures and policies
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Lead Hand
- Participate in continual process improvement
- Team player willing to follow Supervisor and Managers instructions and help out in other departments as required
Qualifications
- Trained and Experienced Tig and Mig Welder using mild steel, aluminum and stainless steel (3+ years)
- CWB Welding Certificates in Mild Steel and Stainless Steel is a definite asset
- Strong ability to set up and operate tig welding stations, mig welding stations, drill presses, grinder and air extractors according to product specifications and safety regulations
- Experience in welding marine, pressure vessel and/or aluminum boat hauls is an asset
- Ability to operate and program robotic welder is an asset
- Knowledgeable of proper welding procedures and processes to meet CWB standards
- Good communication skills
- Ability to read drawings to ensure part is to run according to specifications and work instructions
- Ability to perform all physical requirements for the job and lift up to 50 lbs
- Flexible to work day or afternoon shift and to work weekends and overtime as required
- Knowledge of CWB & ISO procedures or similar quality standards and processes
- Focused on safe working procedures
- Willingness to learn and be trained in the job
- Team player willing to follow Supervisor and Managers instructions and help out in other departments as required
Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
