Who We Are
Durham Outlook for the Needy has been serving individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in Durham Region for over 35 years. We operate as a barrier-free community kitchen –where everyone has a seat at the table, weekly food bank, and thrift store. We show up every day for the people who need us most, and we're looking for someone who wants to do the same.
The Opportunity
This summer we're launching Play It Forward Durham — a funded community engagement program that partners with local sports teams and youth organizations to address food insecurity during the summer months. We need a right-hand coordinator who can help us build it, run it, and make it something the community talks about.
This is not a behind-the-desk role. You will be out in the community building relationships, running volunteer days, tracking impact, and helping DOFN show up in new spaces across Durham Region. You will work directly under our Fund Development Coordinator and have real ownership over a program that matters.
If you are the kind of person who enjoys engaging with the community, follow through on everything, and wants their work to mean something — this is the position for you!
