We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Inventory Manager with a minimum of 10 years of supply chain or distribution experience. In this role, you will oversee the complete lifecycle of our multi-trade inventory (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and safety). You will optimize stock levels, minimize carrying costs, reduce dead stock, and ensure maximum product availability for our busy counter and outside sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Stock Optimization: Manage inventory levels for thousands of SKUs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and safety lines to ensure optimal fill rates.
- Purchasing & Forecasting: Analyze historic sales data, seasonal trends, and market demands to forecast inventory needs and place purchase orders.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with manufacturers and vendors to negotiate favorable pricing, manage lead times, and resolve shipping discrepancies.
- Cycle Counting & Auditing: Establish and lead comprehensive cycle counting schedules and annual physical inventory audits to maintain 99%+ accuracy.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve inventory variances, receiving errors, and system discrepancies within the ERP.
- Dead Stock Management: Identify slow-moving and obsolete inventory, developing strategic liquidation or return-to-vendor protocols.
- Warehouse Collaboration: Partner with warehouse managers to optimize storage layouts, bin locations, and receiving workflows for maximum efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of inventory management or purchasing experience specifically within wholesale distribution (building materials or industrial supply preferred).
- Product Knowledge: Strong familiarity with the parts, terminology, and sizing for plumbing (PVF), electrical (wiring/panels), HVAC, and safety/OSHA products.
- ERP Mastery: Advanced proficiency using wholesale distribution ERP systems and inventory management software.
- Data Analysis: Exceptional analytical skills with advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data modeling).
- Supply Chain Logic: Deep understanding of safety stock calculations, reorder points, economic order quantity (EOQ), and lead-time management.
- Leadership: Proven ability to direct inventory teams, implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), and communicate across departments.
Pay: $55,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
