Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Machine Tool Builder / Job Leader to oversee the assembly, setup, and maintenance of precision machinery within our manufacturing facility. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, leadership skills, and the ability to interpret technical schematics. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is built and maintained to the highest standards, supporting efficient production operations. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the assembly, installation, and calibration of machine tools according to schematics and blueprints.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturing instructions to ensure accurate construction and setup.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments for assembly and adjustments.
- Utilize forklift and warehouse experience to manage material handling and ensure timely delivery of components.
- Perform welding, machining, and mechanical modifications as needed to meet specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Supervise team members during assembly processes, providing guidance on best practices and safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards by following proper procedures for welding, machining, and equipment operation.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including schematics updates and quality checks.
Requirements
- Proven experience in manufacturing or machine tool building with a strong mechanical background.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Hands-on experience with welding, machining, assembly, and use of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; warehouse experience is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge related to machine setup, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with calipers and other precision measurement tools.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to oversee team activities effectively as a Job Leader.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including schematics interpretation and mechanical assembly techniques.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high safety standards.
This position is integral to maintaining our production quality standards through expert assembly and leadership in machine tool building operations.
Pay: $30.00-$37.74 per hour
