Stanford International College is currently hiring for an Automotive Technology Instructor who has experience teaching in a shop environment.
The candidate should cover the below outcomes and set up evaluation for these outcomes.
1. The types and uses of automotive power and measurement tools and the safe use of tools to prevent shop accidents.
2. Parts and specification of automotive engines; engine performance diagnosis and testing; engine repair, engines and emission and engine maintenance.
3. Power flow of standard transmissions/transaxles, clutches, universal and C-V joints; drive shafts, axles, and differentials. Additional topics include the diagnosis and servicing of automatic and manual transmissions, clutches, 4-wheel drive, drive shafts, differentials and electronic sensing devices.
4. The fundamental skills required to diagnose, service and repair gasoline fuel systems and carburetors. The principles of internal combustion, flame propagation activities, emission formation and control measures, and the balancing of air-fuel equations will be discussed.
5. Students will learn the basic principles, diagnostic service and repair of cooling systems. Topics include cooling system fundamentals, cooling system components and diagnostics and servicing.
6. Students will practice in the areas of diagnosis and repair of automotive hydraulic braking systems. Topics will include personal and environmental safety, hydraulic system diagnosis and repair, drum and disc brake diagnosis and repair, power assist units diagnosis and repair, wheel bearings, parking brake, brake electrical diagnosis and repair and anti-lock brake systems (ABS) components and operation.
7. Prepare, organize and implement lesson plans using industry-standard educational approaches (multimedia, adult learning methodology) according to the required program schedule
8. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning modules; instruct and evaluate students, develop student’s skills, and encourage a positive learning environment according to the program schedule
9. Track student attendance, performance and grades; report absenteeism to the Campus Administrator
10. Ensure adherence to all safety standards and practices, including oversight, care and maintenance of any equipment of materials used in the classroom
11. Observe and evaluate student’s work to determine progress, provide feedback and make suggestions for improvement; maintain accurate and complete records of student’s development
12. Establish and enforce classroom rules and procedures; instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
13. Participate in various administrative activities(e.g., attending staff meetings), graduation ceremonies and continuing professional development activities, keep up-to-date with industry trends

Job Qualifications (Education, Skills, Abilities)
Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the field
Good to have:
310 S(Automotive service technician)
Bachelor / Diploma in the field
If you have Teaching experience its an asset
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
