Meat Cutter
Lucky Supermarket is seeking a reliable and motivated Meat Cutter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, processing, and merchandising meat products while maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, debone, and prepare standard cuts of meat.
- Process poultry and other meat products according to company standards.
- Grind meats and prepare customer special orders.
- Prepare and maintain attractive meat, poultry, and seafood displays.
- Clean and prepare meats for processing and sale.
- Wrap, package, weigh, label, and price meat products.
- Assist customers with product selection and special requests.
- Operate and maintain meat processing equipment, including slicers, grinders, and manual cutting tools.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the work area in accordance with food safety standards.
Qualifications
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Previous meat cutting experience is an asset; training may be provided to suitable candidates.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Supermarket and meat department setting.
- Cold and refrigerated work environment.
- Standing for extended periods.
- Fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Physically demanding work involving frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to safely lift and handle products weighing 50–100 lbs.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required.
