Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and individualized care. This role requires strong communication skills, classroom experience, and a passion for early childhood education. Bilingual abilities in English and French are highly valued to effectively serve diverse communities. The Registered Early Childhood Educator will collaborate with families, staff, and specialists to promote positive learning experiences and foster growth in children with various needs, including those with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities ensuring safety at all times
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's development and any concerns
- Collaborate with team members to create inclusive learning environments that accommodate children with special needs or disabilities
- Support children’s individual learning plans by adapting activities as necessary
- Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the classroom environment
- Use computer skills to document observations, prepare reports, and communicate with families via digital platforms
- Demonstrate leadership in guiding less experienced staff or interns when applicable
- Uphold licensing regulations and organizational policies related to early childhood education
Qualifications
- Valid registration as an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) in accordance with local licensing requirements
- Proven experience working with children in classroom settings or childcare environments
- Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in French is a significant advantage
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special education needs is preferred
- Bilingual abilities (English/French) are highly desirable for serving diverse populations
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices in childcare and teaching
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple tasks
- Strong writing skills for documentation and reporting purposes
- Competence in using computers for documentation, communication, and educational activities
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and teamwork skills
- Ability to create an inclusive environment that respects diversity and promotes positive behavior
