Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Carpenter Apprentice to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in various carpentry and construction tasks, providing a foundation for a rewarding career in the trades. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, safety-conscious, and capable of performing physical labor in diverse environments. As a Carpenter Apprentice, you will assist skilled carpenters with building, installing, and repairing structures while developing your technical skills and industry knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to support project execution
- Learn to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Aid in wood framing, wall systems, floor systems, and roof structures on residential builds
- Support installation of siding and other structural components
- Participate in heavy lifting and material handling to ensure efficient workflow on site
- Follow all WorkSafeBC safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment
- Support setup and cleanup of job sites in compliance with safety standards
- Work under the direct supervision and mentorship of a Registered Journeyman Carpenter
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and to specification
What We Are Looking For
- Prior experience or familiarity with construction-related tasks is an asset but not required — training will be provided
- Ability to read basic blueprints or willingness to learn
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in demanding outdoor conditions
- Strong willingness to learn and develop skills in the carpentry trade
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Demonstrated safety awareness and adherence to safety guidelines
- Valid work authorization in Canada required
