The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Coach to join our high-performance U22 Girls Hockey Program. In this role, you will play a key part in enhancing team culture and developing student-athletes both on and off the ice by combining strong leadership, deep tactical knowledge and a commitment to continuous improvement. What You Will Do:
1. Coaching & Player Development
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and executing daily practices, games, video analysis sessions, and tactical team systems.
- Provide ongoing guidance, honest performance evaluations, and constructive feedback to support the athletic growth of student-athletes.
- Support the creation and execution of yearly training, skill development, and technical plans.
2. Program Operations & Recruitment
- Manage team scheduling, travel coordination, and game-day operations while maintaining an accountable, high-performance team culture.
- Attend showcases and tournaments to identify, evaluate, and recruit elite prospective student-athletes for the U22 Girls Hockey program.
- Deliver presentations and host campus visits for prospective families, agents, and program stakeholders to promote FEIA Girls Hockey.
Required Education/Experience
- University degree in any discipline.
- Minimum 4 years university or college level player experience.
Preferred Experience
- Working within a team environment focused on athlete development.
- Respect in Sport certification or willingness to obtain.
- Hockey Canada High Performance 1 (HP1) certification or equivalent.
- Previous coaching experience.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with Class C license or a willingness to obtain.
- Strong skating and demonstration skills to effectively lead and execute high-performance skill development drills.
- Strong organizational skills for managing team travel, game-day operations and scheduling.
- A growth-oriented mindset with the ability to work seamlessly in a staff environment alongside the Head Coach, trainers and school administration.
- Comfortable delivering professional presentations and hosting campus visits for prospective families, agents and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with players, families, coaches and support staff.
- A passion for developing student-athletes and supporting their growth in hockey, academics and personal character.
- Demonstrated ability to scout, evaluate and recruit elite-level student-athletes.
