Job Title: Fluid Power Field Service Technician
Employees will receive a Living Out Allowance (LOA) of $150.00 for each overnight stay.
B. Job Summary
Provide on-site hydraulic service, troubleshooting, repair, and installation support to customers in various field environments including industrial facilities, mobile equipment, drilling operations, and remote project sites.
This role requires a high level of technical competency, independence, and professionalism while representing Wil-Tech Industries in a customer-facing capacity. The Field Service Technician is responsible for delivering efficient, safe, and high-quality solutions in dynamic and often time-sensitive environments.
C. Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

Technical / Field Execution
· Perform on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of hydraulic systems and components under varying levels of complexity.
· Complete emergency breakdown response and scheduled field service work at customer locations.
· Install, commission, and test hydraulic components and systems in the field.
· Perform hose assembly, replacement, and system modifications on-site.
· Interpret hydraulic schematics, technical drawings, and manuals to diagnose issues and implement solutions.
· Conduct preventative maintenance and system inspections at customer facilities.
· Record and analyze system performance and recommend improvements.
Mobility / Field Expectations
· Travel to various job sites including remote, industrial, mining, and drilling environments.
· Work variable schedules, including extended hours, overnight travel, and occasional night shifts based on project requirements.
· Safely operate and maintain assigned service truck, tools, and field equipment.
· Ensure readiness of service vehicle including inventory, tooling, and cleanliness.
Reporting & Documentation
· Complete detailed service reports, inspection reports, and diagnostic findings in a timely manner.
· Accurately track labour hours, travel time, and materials used.
· Communicate findings, recommendations, and job progress clearly with customers and internal teams.
Customer Interaction
· Act as a front-line representative of Wil-Tech Industries at customer sites.
· Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professionalism, communication, and technical expertise.
· Identify opportunities for additional service work, upgrades, or product solutions.
Safety & Operational Excellence
· Adhere to all company and customer safety policies and procedures, including site-specific requirements.
· Maintain a high level of housekeeping and organization in both shop and field environments.
· Participate in ongoing training and development to advance technical skills and industry knowledge.
D. Education and Experience
* A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
· Journeyman Certification or Apprentice Level (preferred).
· Minimum 2–5 years experience in fluid power, hydraulics, or related field service work.
· Experience working in field service, mobile repair, or industrial environments is considered an asset.

· Strong hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting ability in real-world conditions.
· Ability to work independently in remote or customer-facing environments with minimal supervision.
· Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers.
· Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical documentation.
· Highly organized with the ability to manage time, priorities, and multiple service calls.
· Willingness to work extended hours, travel, and adapt to changing job conditions.
· Demonstrates leadership, accountability, and alignment with company values.
F. Certificate, Licenses, and/or Registrations
· Journeyman Certificate or current Apprentice Level.
· Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (clean abstract preferred).
· Safety certifications considered an asset (e.g., H2S, First Aid, CSTS, etc.).
Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
