Building Manager – Residential Apartment Community
Prospero International Realty is seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused Resident Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a well-maintained 216-unit apartment building in Vancouver.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people and is passionate about creating a welcoming, vibrant community for our residents. The ideal candidate is outgoing, approachable, organized, and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring the property operates efficiently.
You'll play a key role in enhancing the resident experience by building positive relationships with tenants, organizing community events, coordinating building operations, and maintaining a high standard of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the property is maintained to a high standard, including the appearance, cleanliness, safety, and overall operation of the building.
- Build strong relationships with residents by providing professional, friendly, and responsive customer service.
- Coordinate and host resident appreciation and community-building events throughout the year to foster a welcoming and engaged community.
- Respond promptly and professionally to tenant inquiries, maintenance requests, complaints, and disputes, working to resolve issues effectively.
- Coordinate, schedule, and oversee contractors and service providers to ensure work is completed on time.
- Assist in overseeing the maintenance and housekeeping teams to ensure common areas and building systems are properly maintained.
- Show available suites to prospective residents, process rental applications, conduct reference and background checks, prepare tenancy documentation, and coordinate move-ins and move-outs.
- Collect rent and assist with rent administration in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain control of building keys, fobs, and security systems.
- Conduct regular property inspections and identify maintenance or operational issues before they become larger problems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance requests, resident communications, contractor work, and building operations.
- Communicate regularly with the Property Manager regarding building operations, resident concerns, capital projects, and ongoing maintenance.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing a large residential apartment building or similar multi-family property.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with residents.
- An outgoing, positive personality with a genuine interest in creating a strong sense of community.
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable using computers and common office software, including Microsoft Office and Yuhu.
- Professional, dependable, and able to work independently while collaborating with the property management team.
