Responsibilities
- Support lead installers in measuring, cutting, and fitting glass according to schematics and blueprints.
- Handle and transport glass panels safely using hand tools and proper lifting techniques.
- Prepare work sites by cleaning, framing, and ensuring surfaces are ready for installation.
- Assist with sealing, caulking, and sealing joints to ensure weatherproofing and durability.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent damage or injury during handling and installation.
- Aid in the use of construction tools such as saws, drills, levels, and wrenches to facilitate precise work.
- Participate in restoration projects by removing old glass or damaged materials and preparing surfaces for new installations.
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools commonly used in construction and glass installation.
- Basic understanding of construction processes including carpentry, plumbing, welding, flooring installation, tile laying, and painting.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings accurately.
- Experience with schematic interpretation related to building projects.
- Knowledge of caulking techniques for sealing glass edges and joints effectively.
- Familiarity with construction safety standards and proper handling of fragile materials like glass.
- Strong teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards learning new skills on the job.
