Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced 5 Ton Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods, materials, and equipment to various locations while maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficient driving, and effective communication with clients and team members.
Duties
- Operate a 5-ton truck for local deliveries and pickups, ensuring timely and accurate transportation of goods
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or manual handling, adhering to safety protocols
- Assist with moving heavy or bulky items within warehouses or delivery sites
- Maintain proper documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs to ensure safety and compliance
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies during transportation activities
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating a 5-ton truck
- Proven experience in commercial driving, warehouse operations, or related fields
- Strong knowledge of moving heavy items safely and efficiently
- Experience with forklift operation is preferred but not required; training may be provided
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed during loading/unloading processes
- Good customer service skills to ensure positive interactions during deliveries
- Warehouse experience is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with logistics and inventory handling
