*Job Summary*
A Gym Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring that the fitness facility is clean, safe, and in good working order. Their duties typically include:
- Equipment Maintenance: Performing regular inspections and repairs on gym equipment, such as treadmills, weight machines, and free weights, to ensure they function correctly and safely.
- Janitorial Cleaning and Sanitation: Keeping all areas of the facility clean, including floors, locker rooms, and workout areas. This involves sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces to maintain hygiene standards.
- Facility Upkeep: Managing the general maintenance of the facility, which may include tasks like changing light bulbs, fixing plumbing issues, and handling minor repairs.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring that the gym complies with health and safety regulations, which includes checking that safety equipment is in place and functioning.
- Inventory Management: Keeping track of maintenance supplies and equipment, ordering replacements as needed, and managing inventory.
- Customer Service: Assisting gym members with any equipment issues or maintenance-related concerns they might have.
- Record Keeping: Documenting maintenance activities and repairs performed, and reporting any major issues to management.
This role requires a good understanding of gym equipment, basic repair skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a focus on cleanliness and safety.
