What you’ll get to do

Collaborating in the engineering development and optimization of equipment and tooling for specific product requirements and manufacturing processes.

Collaborating with Teams to design and validate mechanical components using CAD and simulation tools.

Evaluating mechanical designs for robustness, ergonomics, durability, thermal performance, and reliability.

Supporting and participating in the development of mechanical improvements to equipment, enhancing performance, reducing downtime, and supporting high‑volume manufacturing.

Leading PDLM subprojects and ensuring smooth transfer from design to manufacturing.

Defining requirements and supporting readiness for new products.
-
Authoring and maintaining comprehensive process instructions compliant with Valiant TMS, customer, quality, and safety standards.

Integrating Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize workflows, eliminate waste, and improve overall equipment effectiveness.

Providing technical support and direction to internal teams while monitoring and directing external vendors as required to ensure manufacturing processes, equipment, and solutions meet quality, efficiency, and production requirements.

Collaborating cross-functionally to drive problem-solving initiatives, including improving equipment efficiency, resolving downtime events, and addressing customer quality concerns.

Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing quality, reducing costs, and optimizing labour efficiency.

Communicating project status and technical roadblocks effectively through formal management presentations and data-driven reporting.

Facilitating or delivering training for team members and customers as required, while also developing technical training manuals and work instructions.

Participating in project planning and coordination, ensuring task completion on schedule and within budget.

Utilize enterprise systems including SAP, SMS, and Teamcenter to manage bills of materials (BOMs), material master data, procurement workflows, and product lifecycle information.

Leverage CAD and engineering tools, such as Autodesk Inventor, CATIA V5, and SolidWorks, to support design validation, technical reviews, and manufacturing decision-making.

Act as a technical liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal teams, resolving complex engineering and production challenges in dynamic, time-sensitive manufacturing environments.

Contribute to data-driven decision-making by analyzing cost structures, supplier performance, and manufacturing constraints to optimize overall operational efficiency.

Assess and implement Design for Additive Manufacturing methodologies, including part consolidation and material/process selection commonly utilized in aerospace and high-efficiency mechanical systems.
What we are looking for

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience within the automated production systems and equipment manufacturing environment, specifically focused on assembly or powertrain systems.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.

Experience with industry-standard CAD software.

Skills:

Proficiency with CAD and engineering software, including Autodesk Inventor, CATIA V5, and SolidWorks.

Familiarity with simulation and design validation tools for evaluating mechanical performance, durability, ergonomics, and reliability.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, technical documentation, and communication skills.

Strong project coordination and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet changing deadlines.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, customers, and external vendors.

Ability to work independently and in fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environments.

The expected annual compensation for this position is $72,000.00 – $83,000.00. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skillset, or location. This posting is for an existing vacancy. Valiant TMS does not require Canadian work experience and does not use artificial intelligence (AI) to screen or assess applicants.
