Painter / Part-Time Driver – Overhaul & Repair Facility
We are looking for a mechanically inclined individual to work as a Painter / Part-Time Driver in our overhaul and repair facility in Mississauga. This is a full time position, split between paint and local driving responsibilities.
This role is well suited for someone who has experience with paint preparation, spray painting, general shop work, and local driving for pickups and deliveries. We are willing to train the right person, but experience working with tools, coatings, solvents, and industrial products would be a strong asset.
Roles & responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing parts and components for painting
- Solvent cleaning, masking, sanding, and surface preparation
- Applying primers, paints, and coatings using spray equipment in a paint booth
- Mixing and handling paint products in accordance with shop procedures
- Cleaning and maintaining paint equipment, spray guns, and paint booth areas
- Inspecting painted parts for coverage, finish quality, and defects
- Assisting with grinding, deburring, cleaning, and organizing parts as required
- Driving to local suppliers, vendors, and customers for pickups and drop-offs
- Loading, unloading, counting, and sorting parts or materials
- Assisting with general shop maintenance and cleaning
- Supporting other overhaul, repair, and production tasks as needed
Candidate must possess the following:
- Experience using hand tools — MUST HAVE
- Mechanically inclined — MUST HAVE
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record — MUST HAVE
- Comfortable working with paints, primers, solvents, and cleaning products
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lb products
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-minded
- Can-do attitude
- Willingness to learn
- Flexibility of task
Experience considered an asset:
- Industrial painting or spray painting experience
- Experience working in a paint booth
- Experience with primers, topcoats, and solvent-based paints
- Previous experience in a repair, overhaul, or manufacturing environment
- Previous experience in the railroad industry
- Experience with dampers, snubbers, shock absorbers, or mechanical components
- Grinding and deburring experience
- Tow motor licence
- Experience with overhead cranes
- WHMIS or other safety training
- We are willing to train the right person.
Police check and medical evaluation may be required.
Hours are generally 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
No shift work required at this time.
Location: Dixie / Derry Road, Mississauga
