Job Summary: We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Asphalt Labourer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the installation, repair, and maintenance of asphalt surfaces. The Asphalt Labourer will work under the supervision of the Foreman and will be required to perform a variety of tasks to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Requirements:
- Must have valid Class 5 driver’s licence
- Previous experience in asphalt or construction labour preferred
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects (>50 lbs.) and work in outdoor environments
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Must have a good attendance record
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Responsibilities:
- Loading/unloading material and equipment from trucks
- Asphalt placing, finishing, and raking
- Assist with the preparation of surfaces for asphalt installation
- Assist with the installation of new asphalt surfaces
- Assist with the repair of existing asphalt surfaces
- Operate equipment, hand and power tools
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools
- Follow and enforce company policies, procedures, and safety rules
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor
Working Conditions: The Asphalt Labourer will work primarily outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. The position may require working long hours, depending on project needs. The Asphalt Labourer will be required to lift heavy objects and operate equipment, hand and power tools.
Pay: $21.00-$30.00 per hour
