Staff Plus is hiring a CNC Operator to join a high-volume manufacturing operation.
In this role, you will use CNC routing and digital-cutting equipment to produce components from plastic, aluminum, foam, vinyl and other sheet materials. You will be responsible for preparing the machine, monitoring each job and checking completed pieces before they move to the next stage of production.
Candidates with experience operating AXYZ or similar cutting equipment are encouraged to apply.
Pay Rate: $21.00-$23.00 per hour, based on CNC experience
Schedule: Continental night shift, 7:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.
Location: Paris, ON
Your Responsibilities
- Run CNC routers and computer-controlled cutting equipment
- Prepare and position sheet materials for production
- Install or change cutting tools based on the job requirements
- Enter or adjust machine settings such as cutting depth, speed and tool selection
- Observe equipment during operation and respond to basic performance or cutting issues
- Make minor setting or file adjustments when finished cuts are not meeting specifications
- Review drawings, blueprints and work instructions before beginning production
- Use basic measuring tools to verify dimensions when required
- Examine completed pieces for damaged surfaces, incorrect cuts and other visible defects
- Organize finished materials on skids for painting, assembly, packaging or further processing
- Keep materials and work areas arranged to support an efficient production flow
- Complete regular cleaning, equipment checks and routine machine upkeep
- Follow required safety procedures and wear the appropriate PPE
What You’ll Need
- At least one year of experience operating CNC routing, digital-cutting or related production equipment
- Experience with AXYZ, Zünd or another automated cutting system is an asset
- Familiarity with sheet materials such as plastic, aluminum, foam or vinyl is an asset
- Ability to understand blueprints, production drawings and job instructions
- Basic knowledge of machine setup, cutting tools, speeds and equipment adjustments
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot straightforward production issues
- Strong attention to detail when checking cut quality and finished materials
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy manufacturing environment
- Ability to lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and remain active throughout a 12-hour shift
- Dependable attendance and a cooperative approach to working with a production team

- Machine operation: 2 years
