The University of Regina invites you to become a part of our International Relations and Partnerships Team as our new term International Relations and Partnerships Specialist, where you will play a key role in strengthening the University’s global engagement by helping to build and maintain strategic relationships across the world.
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the University of Regina’s internationalization efforts. In this role, you will support the development and coordination of initiatives with internal and external stakeholders, enhancing the University’s presence on the global stage. Reporting to the Manager, International Relations and Partnerships, you will work closely with the team to provide research, analytical insights, and content development that inform institutional strategies and guide the University’s international collaborations.
What You’ll Do?
- Develop and Finalize International Agreements: Contribute to the preparation and completion of cross-border agreements, including Memoranda of Understanding, Student Exchange Program Agreements, Transnational Education (TNE)/Articulation Agreements, Practicum and Internship Placement Agreements, and Other Collaborative Institutional Agreements.
- Manage and Analyze Data: Preserve the integrity and precision of international agreement records, contributing to data-informed decision-making through accurate record-keeping.
- Ensure Compliance and Accuracy: Support the effective administration of institutional agreements by aligning documentation and processes with university policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Facilitate New International Initiatives: Initiate and support global initiatives that contribute to expanding the University’s international presence and impact.
- Foster Cross-Sector Collaboration: Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders—from academic institutions and community organizations to governmental bodies—both within Canada and abroad.
- Conduct Global Research: Develop briefing notes on countries, institutions, and relevant themes to advance the university’s international strategy and initiatives.
- Coordinate Delegation Visits: Help plan and deliver activities, meetings, and events for visiting delegations, serving as a liaison and representative of the university.
- Support High-Profile Events: Assist in organizing international events with government representatives and partner institutions, ensuring smooth execution and professional engagement.
- Build and Strengthen Relationships: Contribute to positive experiences for international guests by ensuring they receive thoughtful and professional engagement.
- Coordinate International Missions: Provide logistical and administrative assistance for outbound international visits, including travel arrangements, scheduling, and business support.
- Maintain Delegation and Mission Records: Record and archive information related to international delegations and missions, supporting continuity and institutional knowledge.
- Support Departmental Priorities: Carry out additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager to help achieve unit objectives.

Position Requirements
What You’ll Bring to the Position:
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant or related field.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a comparable administrative role, preferably within a post-secondary, public sector, or internationally focused office environment.
- An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.
Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in this Role:
- Experience supporting international education initiatives or working in cross-cultural environments is a strong asset.
- Prior engagement in international travel, volunteer work, or study abroad is considered beneficial.
- Demonstrated cross-cultural awareness and the ability to exercise sound judgment and professionalism when working with internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and uphold strict confidentiality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent administrative capabilities with a high level of attention to detail.
- Effective time management and well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Experience in negotiating and drafting formal agreements.
- Skilled in preparing memos, official correspondence, agreements, and reports.
- Familiarity with cultural norms, business etiquette, traditions, and diplomatic protocol.
- High degree of accountability, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and institutional database systems
Physical Demands Pay Grade APT 3 Salary Range $62,088 - $83,816 Annually Status Term Work Hours
- Monday to Friday, from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Work beyond regular hours may be required based on operational needs and portfolio responsibilities.
- This is an on-site position based in Regina, Saskatchewan. Remote work is not available for this role.
