Job Summary
Northcore Drywall is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our growing team on a commission-based structure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates and takeoffs for drywall-related scopes including insulation, vapour barrier, drywall installation, and taping/mudding.
This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, manage multiple projects efficiently, and contribute to the growth of the company through accurate estimating and strong industry awareness. There is potential for this role to transition into a full-time position based on performance and consistency.
Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents
- Prepare accurate material, labour, and production estimates
- Calculate project costs for: Framing, Insulation, Vapour Barrier, Drywall Installation, Taping / Mudding & Texturing
- Submit estimates and pricing within required timelines
- Coordinate with management regarding project scope and pricing strategies
- Maintain organized estimate records and documentation
- Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing when required
- Assist in identifying potential project opportunities and leads
- Manage multiple estimates while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
Experience
- Previous experience in drywall or construction estimating preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
- Strong understanding of residential and commercial drywall systems
- Knowledge of material takeoffs, labour calculations, and construction pricing
- Experience with estimating software such as Bluebeam or similar tools is considered an asset
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Compensation
- Commission-based compensation structure
- Higher earning potential based on speed, accuracy, workload capacity, and performance
- Additional earning opportunities may be available through project sourcing and lead generation

Expected Earnings
- CAD $45,000–90,000+ annually depending on workload and performance
