Paladin Security is looking for dedicated and community-minded individuals to join our Healthcare Security team in Valleyview. As a Healthcare Security Guard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of patients, clinical staff, visitors, and the general public. This position requires strong customer service skills, the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations, and a passion for helping people.
Healthcare Security provides meaningful hands-on experience in conflict de-escalation, violence prevention, emergency response, and patient interaction—experience that often leads to careers in policing, corrections, or advanced security operations.

Monitor patient safety and report concerns to Protective Services or Clinical staff

Report all incidents based on site procedures

Respond to alarms and emergency calls for assistance

Follow and enforce safety regulations, codes, and protocols

Handle confidential and sensitive information professionally

Use two-way radios and computer systems to communicate site updates

Screen and assist visitors and clients respectfully and professionally

Respond to, de-escalate, and manage high-stress situations
-
Ensure safety of all stakeholders through proper intervention and conflict management

Log and document incidents from hospital staff, patients, or visitors
-
Maintain detailed records of all patient interactions

Respond promptly to emergency assistance requests
Requirements

Must live within 30 mins of Valleyview
-
Must be available days, evenings, and nights

Must be available 7 days a week

Availability for varied shifts including overnights and weekends

Ability to obtain Alberta Security License

Valid Class 5 driver’s license + personal vehicle

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to write thorough reports and maintain logs

Sound decision-making skills under pressure

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Ability to walk 18–20 km per shift and climb stairs
