Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automotive repair and heavy equipment maintenance, with a strong background in diagnosing and repairing trucks, industrial machinery, and related systems. This role offers an opportunity to work with a variety of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety across our fleet. Candidates with dealership experience and familiarity with diverse machinery are highly preferred. The position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance, contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks, heavy equipment, and industrial machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
- Conduct mechanical repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics to identify issues accurately.
- Maintain and repair electrical systems within vehicles and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Operate or assist with the operation of heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, or forklifts when necessary.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical problems.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Assist in assembly or disassembly of components during repairs or upgrades.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used for each vehicle or piece of equipment.
Skills
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on trucks, heavy machinery, or industrial equipment.
- Dealership experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair principles as well as farm machinery, HVAC systems, welding techniques, electrical systems, and schematics interpretation.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or other industrial machinery is desirable.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills combined with mechanical knowledge to diagnose issues quickly.
- Strong customer service skills for interacting with clients or team members effectively.
