Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Mixer to join our bakery production team. The Mixer will be responsible for preparing and combining ingredients to produce high-quality baked goods in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role requires a strong understanding of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and mechanical processes involved in food processing. The ideal candidate will have experience in food industry operations, possess basic math skills, and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Duties
- Accurately measure and mix ingredients according to recipes and production specifications
- Operate mixing equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring proper calibration and maintenance
- Assist with packaging finished products for shipment, ensuring quality standards are met
- Utilize forklift or other material handling equipment as needed for ingredient or product movement
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas in compliance with food safety regulations
- Monitor production processes to ensure consistency and quality of baked goods
- Perform basic troubleshooting on machinery and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Follow safety protocols related to food processing, sanitation, and equipment operation
- Support inventory management by tracking ingredient levels and notifying supervisors of shortages
Qualifications
- Prior experience in the food industry, manufacturing, or food processing is preferred
- Knowledge of sanitation procedures and food safety standards is essential
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with bakery equipment is a plus
- Ability to operate forklifts or similar machinery is advantageous but not required (training provided)
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients accurately and performing calculations as needed
- Strong attention to detail to ensure product quality and safety standards are maintained
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety guidelines
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions
