Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in industrial electrical systems, with the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics, and perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical components. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects including renovation, construction, and automation systems within a dynamic environment. The Journeyperson Electrician will ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards and industry regulations, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of our facilities.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in industrial settings, including low voltage and power distribution networks
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical projects
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform wiring, conduit installation, and system troubleshooting
- Work on renovation projects involving existing electrical infrastructure and new construction installations
- Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automation processes
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential electrical issues and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure timely completion of projects
- Follow all safety protocols and adhere to electrical codes during installation and maintenance activities
Skills
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or journeyperson electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
- Knowledge of low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and automation controls
- Strong background in construction, renovation, and troubleshooting electrical issues in complex environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret schematics and technical instructions accurately
- Handyman experience is a plus for versatile troubleshooting across various systems
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings while maintaining high safety standards
