We are seeking two experienced and detail-oriented Legal Assistants to join our growing team. These positions support busy lawyers in either our Commercial Litigation or Commercial Real Estate practice groups. Whether your experience lies in managing complex litigation matters or supporting sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, we offer an opportunity to work alongside talented professionals in a collaborative and client-focused environment.

Commercial Litigation
Assist with the preparation of legal documents relating to employment law, complex commercial disputes, debtor creditor matters, real estate disputes, fraud, bankruptcy and insolvency matters, and general contract disputes;

Prepare, revise and file court documents and correspondence;

Organize, assemble and draft motion records, trial records, books of authorities, pleadings, and other litigation materials;

Maintain and manage client files and litigation documents;

Schedule meetings, coordinate appointments, and manage calendars;

Monitor deadlines and court filing requirements;
-
Enter dockets, process accounts, and perform general administrative duties.
Commercial Real Estate

Prepare and revise agreements of purchase and sale, leases, financing and closing documents;

Manage transaction files from opening to closing, including due diligence and document organization;

Coordinate title and off-title searches and review search results;
-
Prepare closing documentation and assist with transaction closings;

Liaise with clients, lenders, and third parties;
-
Manage calendars, deadlines, and correspondence;
-
Perform general administrative duties, including scanning and electronic filing.
Qualifications

Successful completion of a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk diploma/certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution;

Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in either a commercial litigation or commercial real estate practice;

Strong understanding of legal procedures, documentation, and file management within the applicable practice area;

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams);

Experience working with PDF software, DocuSign, and a document management system such as iManage;

Commercial Real Estate candidates should have experience with Teraview and Workshare Compare;

Commercial Litigation candidates should have familiarity with Ontario court rules, practice directions, filing requirements, and litigation procedures;

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines;

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to exceptional client service;

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail;

Confident self-starter who works effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team;

Sound judgment, discretion, and a positive, solutions-oriented approach.
Compensation
$65,000 – $75,000
This range represents the anticipated base compensation for these roles. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
