The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for a full range of accounting duties, including overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable, managing banking transactions, performing account reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role also supports the preparation of internal and external financial reports and analysis. The Intermediate Accountant reports directly to the Accounting Manager.
- Oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable, and banking functions, including EFTs.
- Inputs monthly journal entries and bank entries/transfers.
- Creates, updates, and processes recurring journal voucher distributions.
- Performs monthly/quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and records necessary adjustments.
- Oversees GST/PST remittances and related adjusting entries and reporting.
- Reviews monthly statements for accuracy and makes required adjustments.
- Responds to inquiries on financial transactions and budgets, making adjustments as needed.
- Ensures compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensures all statutory requirements are met, including Charitable Status, CPP/EI remittances, GST, and PST.
- Provides reporting and analytical support to the Accounting Manager.
- Assists with year-end audit preparation.
