We are seeking an cheerful and friendly level II Dental Assistant to join our team for a full time position to cover a 1 year maternity leave however this role has the potential to expand to a long term opportunity as our practice is currently growing.
The ideal candidate will a team player as they will be working closely with dentists, hygienists and fellow dental assistants. Our team thrives in a collaborative environment.
This role requires proficiency in managing/ adhering to the schedule, maintaining electronic dental records, IPAC and HARP. Experience in a dental office as a dental assistant or floater is a must. We would prefer a candidate with a minimum of 3 years clinical experience. Wage can be negotiated based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients as they arrive, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Follow IPAC standards in reprocessing instruments in the sterilization bay
- Provide assistance with room cleaning and turn over between patients
- Assist dentist during clinical procedures as required
- Assist hygiene team with charting, probing, digital x-rays, intra-oral photos or scanning as required
- Collaborate with clinical team to ensure smooth patient flow throughout the office.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sterile bay area
- Assist with other administrative tasks to support the office operations including inventory of sundries and supplies to support ordering.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a dental assistant, floater or in a similar clinical role within a dental office is a must.
- Proficient in using electronic medical records software; experience with Tracker is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and office procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Organized individual familiar with compliance and documentation
- Experience using digital sensors, intra-oral camera and intra oral scanner an asset
- Level II Dental Assisting Diploma an asset
- HARP Certification required
