Position Summary:
Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the staff accountant shall be responsible for account management and reconciliations relating to the corporate accounts at GNJ. In addition, the role will also support other areas of the accounting department, as required.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Corporate Accounting
- Perform daily bank reconciliation activities for all bank accounts
- Monitor reconciling items to ensure timely resolution
- Prepare and complete month end bank reconciliations, and all relate journal entries
- Review positive pay transactions for exceptions and review with Senior Management
- Perform necessary accounting activities for other Corporate Balance Sheet accounts, such as Prepaid Expenses, Investment Accounts, Shareholder Loans etc.
- Credit Card Administration– setup, refunds and reporting
Other Accounting Support
- Perform necessary accounting activities for other Balance Sheet accounts, such as Equipment Capitalized Freight, Equipment in Transit, Labor WIP, Parts in Transit, Driver Training accounts, ST/OT, SF/OF etc..
- Month end administration and management, including completing the virtual binder and checklist
- Back up to daily sales report
Special Finance Projects & Assignments
- Carry out projects and assignments as assigned by Assistant Controller, Controller and VP Finance. Duties vary in type and responsibility.

What You’ll Bring to the Table
- University Degree or College Diploma in a Finance or Accounting program is required.
- Experience in high volume Bank reconicciliations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to multitask in a busy office environment.
- Willingness to take on other duties as needed.
