Tailor / Seamstress / Alterations Expert
Location: Teimuri Bespoke – 777 Queen St E, Toronto, ON M4M 1H5
Pay: $20– $25/hour (full-time) |(part-time/seasonal)
Expected hours: 15–40 per week
About Us
Teimuri Bespoke is an independent tailoring studio in Toronto’s Riverside neighborhood. We specialize in fine alterations and custom garments, from classic menswear to bridalwear. We are seeking an experienced Tailor / Seamstress who takes pride in precision, craftsmanship, and detail.
Responsibilities
- Alter both men’s and women’s garments (suits, jackets, pants, coats, dresses, and bridalwear)
- Use industrial sewing machines and fine hand stitching (e.g., cover stitch, serger/overlock, straight stitch, blind hem)
- Perform complex adjustments: sleeve lengthening/shortening, waist/side alterations, shoulder reshaping, zipper replacements, lace hemming, strap work, and lining changes
- Ensure high-quality finishes delivered on time
- Work independently while maintaining professionalism with clients
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years tailoring/alterations experience
- Strong technical knowledge of garment construction and fit
- Organized, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Experience with hand artistry (beading, embroidery, or traditional garments) is an asset
- Basic English skills (spoken, written, and reading) to communicate with clients and team
