Objective: Under the supervision of the General Manager, the Executive Housekeeper is responsible for delegating and participating in all aspects of the hotel’s daily Housekeeping operations with an overall strong adherence to brand standards and to have the ultimate goal to win awards and achieve profits.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be exceptionally knowledgeable about the hotel’s facilities and services, as well as Brand standards
- Responsible for hiring and training of all department associates
- Carefully schedule staffing based on forecasts, business demands and holiday trends
- Ensure all public areas are cleaned and well maintained
- Ensure department associates always have the required tools to complete their job responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Ensure rooms are properly coded as clean in the computerized system, allowing for timely check in of guests.
- Facilitate cross-training of select department personnel to assist in other areas as may be needed (ie. Laundry or meeting room set ups)
- Conduct ongoing inspections of guestrooms, ensuring highest standards of cleanliness are being maintained. Retrain associates where required to ensure optimal performance.
- Facilitate a deep cleaning schedule that is logical based on business demands/seasonality
- Manage payroll process for all associates, ensuring deadlines for payroll submission are met
- Conduct regular housekeeping dept. inventories, control distribution of supplies and re-order as required.
- Be efficient, effective and responsive with inquires and requests using good communication
- Keep the maintenance department (and other management) informed of reported maintenance issues
- Conduct approved staff meetings and attend hotel management meetings
- Plan, implement and communicate departmental procedures and policy
- Ensure that standards of punctuality, staff appearance and dress code are maintained at all times
- Know responsibilities of Fire Safety Plan, WHMIS and Health & Safety (train Housekeeping team)
- Act as Manager on Duty (as scheduled)
- Complete VIP inspections of guestrooms as required
- To manage with a “hands on” style, ensuring department deadlines are achieved
- To train associates on Lost & Found procedures and to facilitate the safe keeping of any items left behind
- Work with suppliers to ensure best pricing and quality of products (where brand standards do not mandate purchasing actions)
- Maintain inventories of department uniforms and order as required to ensure optimal appearance
- Ensure personal mobile devices are not used in guest areas
- Identify and support an associate within the department to assist with Health & Safety committee inspections, meetings, and other initiatives.
- Accomplish or assist with “Special Projects” as required
Pay: $58,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
