Continual Energy Inc. deploys cutting-edge, specialized energy solutions for buildings, including Continual’s wholly owned subsidiary, Ark Heat, manufacturing HVAC equipment with a focus on sustainability and modularity. The Electrician/Electrical Technician is responsible for ensuring all electrical and controls-related activities in the factory are executed in a professional and timely manner.
The setting is a fast-paced manufacturing environment where custom and serial HVAC equipment is manufactured. This role ensures electrical components, wiring, & controls are installed, tested, and completed in a safe, efficient manner and in full compliance with applicable codes, standards, and internal quality requirements. This role acts as the technical authority on the shop floor for electrical systems and coordinates closely with engineering, quality, and commissioning teams to support production schedules and continuous improvement.
Core Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Production Manager
- Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires according to schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Assemble and mount control panels, contactors, switches, and sensors.
- Install and connect circuit breakers, contactors, relays, and sensors in HVAC units.
- Wire, label, and terminate control and power panels to UL 508A / CSA C22.2 standards, mounting DIN-rail components, terminal blocks, and wire duct per point-to-point wiring diagrams.
- Land and connect motor starters, variable frequency drives (VFDs), control transformers, and low-voltage control/BAS wiring.
- Redline schematics and mark up as-built drawings to capture field changes for engineering.
- Perform voltage checks, current checks, and various functional tests using multimeters.
- Perform point-to-point continuity and insulation-resistance (megger) checks before energizing.
- Troubleshoot wiring issues, short circuits, and faulty connections in assembled HVAC equipment
- Ensure all electrical assemblies comply with CSA, UL, and all relevant codes
- Support functional testing, start-up, and commissioning of completed units alongside the commissioning team.
- Follow workplace safety guidelines.
- Properly handle and route wiring to prevent hazards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in confined spaces.
- Factory or production facility setting (indoor, climate-controlled environment)
- Exposure to electrical components, wiring tools, and assembly line operations
- Use of PPE (gloves, safety glasses, anti-static wristbands, etc.)
Skills Required:
- Ability to use hand tools (screwdrivers, wire strippers, crimpers) and power tools (drills, rivet guns, torque wrenches).
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, blueprints, and schematics.
- Good hand-eye coordination and steady hands for precision wiring and terminations.
Qualifications and Education Required:
- Diploma, degree, certification and/or equivalent relevant experience in the related field.
- Strong Electrical fundamentals are required
- Familiarity with HVAC systems and components is an asset
- 2+ years of experience in electrical assembly (preferably in a manufacturing setting)
Other Qualifications (Preferred but not required):
- Certificate of Qualification – 442A (Industrial Electrician) or 309A (Construction & Maintenance Electrician)
- Electrical Safety Training (NFPA 70E, OSHA 10/30, or equivalent)
- HVAC-R Electrical Certification (if applicable)
- WHMIS (for handling electrical components safely)
Compensation:
- Hourly range of $30 to $40, dependent upon experience and qualifications.
- Three (3) weeks of vacation.

Schedule:
- Typical work week is Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
- Occasional overtime or after-hours/weekend work required.

- Must have a valid G-class driver’s license with clean driving record for 3 years.
- Capable of passing an Ontario Contractor Security Screening Check (no criminal record).

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
