The Carrier Group is currently accepting applications for the Human Resources Manager position, which is predominantly based in Prince George, BC, with minimal travel once per month to Saskatchewan.
Job Description
The successful candidate will manage the Human Resources Management programs at all divisions within the Carrier Group, acting as the program ambassador and promoting our culture of wellness as below.
Human Resources
- Manages, coordinates, implements, develops, monitors and maintains all records required to deliver the Human Resources Management programs.
- Develops new, and updates existing, policies and procedures as necessary.
- Provides interpretation of company and employers’ association policies and procedures.
- Keeps informed about new and changing legislation and ensures compliance with it.
- Keeps informed about all potential equipment, process and technological changes at each division that may impact the Human Resources Management programs.
- Researches, understands and recommends “best practices” in the industry.
- Advises management on collective agreements and related documentation.
- Assists management with collective agreement bargaining, grievances and arbitrations.
- Acts as the primary liaison with benefit providers, and any other government, regional or provincial group specific to human resources, and assists Payroll in delivering benefit plans.
- Manages all disability claims administration, with an emphasis on back-to-work planning.
- Manages all aspects of human resource investigations.
- Participates in recruiting, onboarding and offboarding. Prepares or coordinates related paperwork.
Health, Safety and Environment
· Works in conjunction with the HSE Manager with initial and follow-up HSE investigations.
· Liaises with the HSE Manager on benefit plan administration matters.
Required Education and Experience:
- Outstanding ability to keep all human resources information in the strictest confidence.
- Human Resources Management certificate, or is actively in the program.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Minimum of 5 years of practical human resources environment experience, preferably in industrial sectors.
- Valid Class 5 drivers license.
Desirable Education and Experience:
- Thorough understanding of collective agreements and legislation affecting human resources.
- Knowledgeable in incident investigation theories and root causation.
- Skilled in benefit plan administration.
- Familiar with processing payroll.
- Exceptional organization and record keeping abilities.
Salary range is $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience and education. A competitive industry benefits package is available.
