Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled TCP (Traffic Control Person) to join our construction team. This role is essential for ensuring safety and efficient traffic management at construction sites, particularly those involving heavy equipment operation and paving activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction site protocols and the ability to work in dynamic environments.
Duties
- Direct and control traffic flow around construction zones to ensure safety for workers and the public
- Operate and assist with the setup of heavy equipment as needed, adhering to safety standards
- Assist with paving operations by coordinating vehicle movements and supporting paving crews
- Maintain clear communication with team members regarding site conditions and traffic patterns
- Ensure that all signage, barriers, and safety devices are properly installed and maintained throughout the project
- Monitor work zones continuously for hazards or unsafe practices and report issues promptly
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company policies during daily operations
Requirements
- Prior experience in heavy equipment operation, paving, or construction is highly desirable
- Ability to operate traffic control devices and understand traffic management plans
- Strong knowledge of construction safety protocols and procedures
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and directing traffic effectively
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and perform manual tasks as needed
- Valid certification or training in traffic control or related fields is a plus
- Must be reliable, attentive to detail, and committed to maintaining a safe work environment
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
