Panorama Hills Animal Hospital is a privately owned and operated veterinary hospital in NW Calgary. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our team of veterinary professionals. The ideal candidate will assist veterinarians and other RVTS in providing high-quality care to feline/canine patients including surgery, medicine, preventative care and all aspects of care. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where compassion, attention to detail, and technical expertise are essential. We currently have 3 veterinarians and 4 RVTS on staff ranging from 8 months to 20 years experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments, ensuring smooth clinical operations, comfort and care for patients, and quality communication to the owners.
- Collect and prepare samples for laboratory testing, including blood, urine, and tissue specimens (skin, ear and fecal cytologies)
- Perform laboratory tests accurately and efficiently to support diagnosis and treatment decisions
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Maintain detailed records of patient care, laboratory results, and treatment plans
- Provide client education on animal health, nutrition, and post-treatment care
- Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of medical equipment and work areas
Skills
- Proven laboratory experience with a strong understanding of diagnostic testing procedures
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Compassionate approach towards animals and clients alike
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and clinical protocols is preferred

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
