At Mel's Enterprises, we take pride in providing excellent customer service to both our local customers and the many visitors who travel to Cavendish each summer. We are seeking a friendly and dependable Seasonal Cashier/Pump Attendant who enjoys working with people, can work independently, and supports the day-to-day operations of our busy gas station and convenience store.
This is a great opportunity to gain customer service experience while working in beautiful Cavendish, PEI.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, professional customer service at all times
- Safely dispense fuel and monitor pumps for safety hazards
- Operate the cash register and process payments accurately
- Follow cash-handling procedures and maintain an accurate cash float
- Complete opening, closing, and site security duties as required
- Keep the store, site, and outdoor areas clean, organized, and well-maintained
- Stock shelves and maintain attractive product displays
- Perform general outdoor upkeep, including sweeping and snow removal when needed
- Support the daily operations of the gas station and convenience store
Qualifications
- Eligible to work legally in Canada
- Friendly, professional customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Comfortable working independently and making decisions while alone on shift
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays (required)
- Ability to travel to and from Cavendish
- Cash handling, reconciliation, or inventory experience is an asset
- Able to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods
- Maintains a professional appearance and attitude
