POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Program Manager and working closely with the program team, the Drop-In Program Coordinator will be responsible for the smooth functioning of the Drop-In program at Fontbonne Ministries. As an innovative team builder, the Drop-In Program Coordinator will plan, offer, and evaluate programming that promotes a culture of inclusion and collaboration, while addressing the needs of the participant populations.
AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Acting in accordance with Fontbonne Ministries, mission, vision, values and policies in all dealings.
Program Facilitation
- Responsible for the organization and facilitation of drop-in related activities, including set up, engagement and participation, and clean up.
- Oversee all aspects of the drop-in, including hygiene and clothing, to ensure safety, quality and best practices are being implemented for the designated individual/population that is being serviced.
- Provide ongoing feedback to Program Manager for program improvement and innovation.
- Ensure that the environment is a welcoming space for all.
- Work closely with the Food Program Coordinator & Cook to ensure alignment in services offered.
- Assist with preparing for special events.
Volunteer & Student Engagement
- Support volunteer and student learning & growth opportunities.
Administration
- Assist with tracking program metrics for reporting purposes.
- Participate actively in organizational training sessions, planning sessions, employee meetings.
- Complete program reporting requirements by funders as requested by the Program Manager
- Participate in internal and/or external committees as required.
- Participate in special projects and research activities as assigned
- Provide program descriptions and related service content information for the organization’s social media platforms, annual report and other related communication vehicles.
Other Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide back up to other Program employee during periods of vacation, illness or other absences.
- Perform other duties as required.
EDUCATION/TRAINING
- Diploma in social service.
- First Aid/Level C CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain) an asset.
- Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) or De-Escalation Training.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience working with the organization’s priority populations including but not limited to, seniors and/or vulnerable communities an asset.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and to work in a fast-paced fluid environment
- Ability to work with participants presenting with a wide range of social, emotional, physical, financial and/or mental health issues.
