Fergus & Bix in Canmore is actively seeking well-organized and effective Line Cook/Prep Cooks to join our kitchen team for an anticipated busy summer season.
This role is essential in ensuring the timely and consistent preparation of all menu items that meet our restaurant’s standards and guest expectations.
The ideal candidates will have a passion for food & service, aspire to learn kitchen skills and procedures, with a commitment to food safety. Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to menu specifications and proper presentation, with attention to detail, especially in regards to allergies
- Assist in food preparation, including menu prep, cooking to order, with efficient & timely execution of a wide range of dishes inspired from cuisines worldwide
- Execute menu items with precision, ensuring consistency, with attention to detail
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing workstations
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of food products
- Support the team during busy hours by efficiently managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Collaborate with other kitchen team members to ensure smooth operation and timely execution of the menu during busy periods
- Restock supplies as needed and communicate inventory shortages to management
Experience
- Prior experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Prior knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment is an asset
- Familiarity with food handling safety standards and sanitation procedures is also an asset
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining attention to detail and organization
