Position Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of heavy equipment in field environments.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy equipment
Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment such as haul trucks, excavators, dozers, graders, loaders, and support equipment
Troubleshoot engine, hydraulic, electrical, and aftertreatment systems
Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software
Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation
Work safely and follow all site safety procedures
Respond to field breakdowns and service calls
Qualifications
Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician preferred (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 3–5 years experience working on heavy equipment
Experience with brands such as **Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, and Hitachi considered an asset
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently in field conditions
Valid driver’s license (Class 5 minimum)
Service truck experience is an asset
Mining or construction experience preferred
